Eston, an angelic being, meets the various Singaporean characters, and conducts each one of them on a journey of self-encounter/discovery through his or her own psyche. The production dramatizes two excerpts from the novel: The Tunnel, and The Jungle. Screen images vividly present the physical settings, and the characters’ journey through these surroundings. The story also takes us deep into the characters’ minds. Words and images help to portray the overlapping, undercutting layers of reality, in a way that would be impossible on the conventional stage.
