The Fun Stage believes in developing a piece of work through a research process. During the course of the research, audiences are brought in at different times to provide feedback and evaluations of the performances. After the performances and after dialogue sessions with the audience, The Fun Stage will decide if the piece of work has potential to be further developed. With that, the team work closely again to develop the piece further. This is the reason why the works-in-progress are usually grouped under a series, such as Unsense Series, Women by Men Series etc. Grouping under a series gives a core direction while at the same time, representing the possibility for the content of the series to be further developed as time goes by. In 2008, The Fun Stage is further developing Death.Mother and Human Lefts. Women by Men Series is the latest initiative by The Fun Stage to showcase original performances where female roles are performed by men as well as exploring the issue of gender identity on stage. Through this, we hope to offer a platform for discussions and sharing on the issues revolving around this theme. In the long run, we also hope to build up a strong repertoire of works through this series that are representative of this theme and issue.
